Introduction
Purpose: The Department of Defense (DoD) High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) established DoD HPCMP Acquisition Engineering (AE) Projects to better support the unique workflows for the acquisition engineering, mission engineering, and test and evaluation (T&E) communities with HPCMP compute resources, network access, and advanced software tools in the modeling and simulation of DoD air, land, and sea-based weapon systems across all lifecycle phases for high return on investment projects.
Submission: All AE Project requests must be submitted to
Questions: For questions, please contact Jason Klepper at
Form Content
Proposed Title: Provide a brief proposed title for the Acquisition Engineering Project
POC Name: Provide the name of the individual primarily responsible for the Acquisition Engineering Project
POC Email: Provide the email address of the individual primarily responsible for the Acquisition Engineering Project
Submit Date: Select the date the Acquisition Engineering Project request is submitted
Need Date: Select the date the HPCMP resources are needed to be made available
Impacted Entity: Provide the name of the entity, organization, or program that will be impacted by the work being requested. This should be a DoD weapon system, mission, or T&E activity.
Executing Entity: Provide the name of the entity, organization, program, or effort that will be primarily conducting the requested work. This can be either a DoD or DoD contractor entity. It can be the same as the Impacted Entity.
Service/Agency Supported: Select the service/agency the requested work will primarily impact
Do the co-investigators have a DoD CAC? Select Yes or No. If any potential users conducting the requested work do NOT have a DoD-issued CAC card, a Yubi Key can be provided to access the HPCMP compute resources.
Description: Provide a detailed description of the requested work.
Representative Image: Click on the box to provide an image that is representative of the effort being requested.
Forecasted Return on Investment (ROI): Provide a forecasted return on investment. This does NOT need to be a financial return on investment, but can be schedule, testing resource availability, or simply that the work cannot be completed any other than via M&S using HPC compute resources.
Measure of Success / Risk: Provide a proposed method on how success of the project will be determined based on the requested work description. Additionally, provide a summary of any risks associated with meeting the success of the project.
Classification: Select the classification level of the compute resource that are needed for the requested work. Remember, all requests must be at the unclassified level, unless other arrangements are made.
Access Method: Select a preferred access method. Options are:
• Command Line (SSH) – Direct Linux login / Putty for Windows
• Web-Based – Web Portal type support (Unavailable at this time)
• Remote Desktop – SRD / Open On Demandy type support (Unavailable at this time)
Computational Requirements: Provided the required computation requirements needed to complete the requested work. Specify the type, number, and duration of any combination of CPUs, GPUs, and Viz nodes.
Software/Version Requirements: Provide the known software packages needed to complete the requested work (CREATE tools, python, etc) including version numbers. Also list any software tools the user is expecting to have installed on the systems (commercial tools, other GOTS, compiled software), including version numbers. Users are expected to provide most commercial licenses themselves with HPCMP installing the software.
Special Consideration: Provide any other information, not requested, that might help the HPCMP request reviewers better evaluate the AE Request.
