Announcement of Request for DoD HPC Modernization Program HPC Equipment Reutilization Proposals

 

The purpose of this announcement and request for proposals is to inform interested organizations of the specific hardware configuration, and the process for submitting a proposal to be considered for an award to reutilize HPC systems.

The Department of Defense (DoD) High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) established DoD Frontier Projects to enable the exploration of research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) and acquisition engineering outcomes that would not be achievable using typically available HPCMP resources.

Maui Acquires IBM Cluster

 

The Maui High Performance Computing Center, as one of the High Performance Computing Modernization Program's (HPCMP) Department of Defense Supercomputing Resource Centers (DSRC), just contracted with IBM to deliver a cluster solution based on IBM's POWER8 server with high-performance, high-bandwidth, NVIDIA GP100 graphical processing units (GPUs). The total life-cycle investment is valued at $2 million.
